Purpose: analyze kinematic and kinetic gait parameters, in addition assessing age differences in normal school age (6-12 years) children in Capital governate of Kuwait and compare the findings with normal standard values. Methods: Sixty normal children of both sexes were recruited from different schools in capital governorate of Kuwait. Their ages were ranged from 6-12 years , they are with normal body mass index ( BMI ) They were assigned into three groups. group (A) children whom aged 6-8 years ; group (B) children whom aged 8-10 years and group (C) whom aged 10-12 years . All participants underwent physical evaluation for eligibility of selection. Gait kinematic and kinetic parameters were analyzed for all participated children by using BTS-FREE/EMG 300. SPSS was used for statistical analysis. Results: Most kinematic gait parameters are consentient with normal standard values in stride time ,stance time, swing time, stance phase, ,and significantly differ in swing phase, double support phase , velocity , cadence ,stride length ,step length , step width ,.Regarding kinetic parameters , there were no statistical significant differences between the three age groups . Conclusion: establishing national normative values for gait analysis is important for analyzing various gait deviations. |
