المستخلص Corruption is an ancient human phenomenon in nations. Almost no nation or era is devoid of this phenomenon. Among them is the Beni Marin State in the Far Maghreb, the subject of this study. lofty fulfilling its role in the service of Islam and the building of Islamic civilization in the Maghreb, but with the end of the reign of Sultan Abi Anan the period of strength and prosperity of the Marinid state ended; To enter after his death in the year (759 AH / 1358 AD) in another phase of weakness and corruption; As the borders of the Marinid state retreated to the borders of Morocco in the strict sense of the word, then the country entered a crisis of governance linked to the mechanisms of inheritance that nourished family divisions and encouraged the intervention of local and international actors. Tribal rebellions heralded separatist tendencies spread, and the actual authority gradually exited from the hands of the sultans, and the influence of the ministers increased; The internal conditions were disturbed, strife prevailed, trade lines were interrupted, chaos spread, insecurity, famines followed, epidemics spread, poverty prevailed, the deviations of Sufi movements became widespread, family life deteriorated, cities and villages were destroyed, health institutions suffered from neglect, and cultural life deteriorated. The Jews controlled the reins of government, and the christians occupied most of the coastal cities, and all these factors combined to eventually lead to the fall of the Marinid state in (869 AH / 1465 AD). |
