Abstract in this research, a singular iso-geometric boundary integral equation formulation for Reissner{u2019}s shear-deformable plate problems is developed. The formulation is developed to solve thick plate problems drawn by NURBS curves without further discretization. The formulation is developed due to the use of the NURBS curve as a modeling tool for plates by architects, and because there is no need for further boundary discretization at structural analysis stage. The displacements and tractions over the problem boundary are approximated as NURBS curves having the same shape functions used to represent the geometrical boundary. The singular integrals in the system of equation is treated by the singularity subtraction technique. The developed formulation shows high rate of convergence of results compared to Q-BEM, and accurate results with significantly very low number of elements compared to the FEM |
