Abstract This study aimed at comparing the quality of education between public universities and private universities. Questionnaires were used to tackle the following issues (lecturer - educational effectiveness-evaluation techniques-study and laboratory facilities-library-training-student activities and discrimination)for students, and(the workplace-the educational process-services from the university and college for the professoriate-financial situation-promotion and administrative system-facilities and scientific equipments-general trend) for the professoriate and ancillary staff as a sample for study; they were selected by selecting a deliberate sample from society. In this study the researcher follows the approach of statistical analysis using the SPSS program, and the results of the study indicated that the average quality performance of education in public universities does not match with that in private universities, i.e. there is a significant difference between the average quality performance of education in public and private universities. Moreover, the study recommended the necessity of activating the role of academic guidance, through support unit and academic counseling. This unit formed by a decision of the Dean and deals with planning, coordination, and supervision of the implementation of the academic supervision of the process altogether; this unit will be under the supervision of Dean or Vice Dean for Student Affairs |
