Abstract The knowledge of childhood asthma among mothers of 400 Egyptian stable asthmatic children was assessed using 12 item questionnaire. Level of asthma control was determined and the relation between maternal knowledge and asthma control was investigated. Results show that 66.5% of questionnaire statements were wrongly answered by the mothers of asthmatic children. Parental education, occupation, and social class were significantly lower among families of partially controlled asthmatic children compared to families of controlled asthmatics |
