Abstract As the huge growth of data, there is a desire to find a new distributions that fit these data. Mixture distributions are important and very useful in describing non-homogeneous data. Beta exponential distribution is one of the most important distributions that has been used in a variety of applications. Describing income distributions is one of these applications. The main idea of this thesis is to generate a new mixture distribution of two beta exponential distributions to be used as an income distribution and represent low and high income. Also, one of the objectives of the present thesis is to obtain the maximum likelihood estimators of the unknown parameters of Mixture of two beta exponential distributions; apply on a real income data follows household income, expenditure and consumption survey HIECS 2015 for Egypt (http://erf.org.eg/data-portal/) and do goodness of fit test to examine if income data fits the concerned distribution |
