Abstract This study aimed to optimize the best conditions for the extraction of pesticides from edible oils. In general, the factor that had the highest impact on the pesticides’ recoveries was the solvent/sample ratio. Furthermore, each different solvent had a different behavior when combined with our tested cleanup sorbents. For example, acetonitrile showed the best behavior in combination with EMR, and some problematic analytes only conformed to our criteria when a certain solvent/cleanup combination was used such as deltamethrin and ethyl acetate/acetonitrile EMR-Lipid combination. In general, the use of the ethyl acetate/acetonitrile and Z-Sep mixture showed the highest number of pesticides with acceptable criteria. Therefore, each solvent/sorbent combination can be effectively used in the multi-residue determination of pesticides from edible oils with significant advantages in recoveries and matrix removal over each othe |
