Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to investigating the effect of Prestressing force on the value of response modification factor (R) for moment resisting framed, and to reach this objective the well-known SAP2000 software has been used to carried out a nonlinear static pushover analysis on a several number of models using 3D, as well as, 2D modeling. These models vary in several parameters such as number of floors, concrete dimensions and number of bays.These models have been designed and analyzed for both vertical and lateral loads according to Egyptian code provisions for the design of the reinforced concrete buildings (ECP203-2007) and the Egyptian code for calculation of loads (ECP201-2012)
