Abstract
The study which I have made with the title of Surrealism in narrative of Ernesto Sabato: The tunnel and about heroes and tombs, had been divided into two parts. Firstly, I talked about Surrealism & the characteristics of surrealism from the point of view theoretical & practical side in Literature, especially the narrative of Ernesto Sabato, and also I has thrown light on Ernesto Sabato, his life and his literary trends. Secondly, which is a critical study of the techniques of narrative in his novels Tunnel and About heroes and tombs, I talked about the narrative motifs such as symbolism, metaphor, and metonymy in language of storytelling, as well as the internal and external structure, and the topics dealt with Sabato like: madness, blindness, nothing and crime and suicide, Also, the characters and hero’s image and women’s image, psychological time and spatial dimension in two novels, with a focus on the time jumps and symbolic place
