Abstract The housefly Musca domestica is a vector of serious human and animal diseases that cause threats to our community. The most common method to control insect pest populations is the use of chemical insecticides such as organochlorine compounds, organophosphates, carbamates, pyrethroids and formamides. Though their rapid actions, chemical insecticides often kill nontarget animals and over the years, their extensive use has led to their accumulation in the environment and development of resistant insect genotypes. |
