Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the prehydrated collagenated cortico-cancellous granules in augmentation of the maxillary sinus radiographically & histologically. Materials & methods: This study included eight sinuses on six patients selected from the out-patient clinic, Cairo University, two females and four males with pneumatized & severely resorbed maxillary sinus with bone height less than five mm. All cases were free from any local or systemic diseases. The surgical procedures were conducted on two stages, the first stage was the stage of elevating the sinus membrane followed by the augmentation with the bone graft, and after six months, the second stage was done with taking the bone sample using a trephine burr and placing the dental implant. Radiographic evaluation: A computerized cone-beam scans was done twice, the first one was second day postoperatively to evaluate the increase in vertical height, and the second one was after six months before placing the dental implant to compare the height and density of the newly formed bone, showing increase in density with slightly decrease in height |
