Abstract Background: Asthma is the most frequent chronic disease of childhood and the incidence is gradually increasing, despite effective medications and evidence-based guidelines for treatment, many patients with asthma often suffer from exacerbations and persistent symptoms, possible causes of this situation is the improper use of inhaler devices or the poor adherence to inhalers. Methods: The study was conducted in Allergy and Pulmonology Clinic of Specialized Children Hospital, Cairo University. The study included 100 pediatric patients with bronchial asthma and followed up for at least 6 months, patients were evaluated for inhaler technique using a checklist and evaluated for adherence using a questionnaire from ( Capangulo et al., 2015), diagnosis and control of asthma were determined according to GINA guidelines |
