Abstract The dissertation tested the primary factors that have led to the restructuring of the Turkish Foreign Policy (TFP) towards Syria twice, under the same regimes, over the two consecutive periods of 2002-2010 and 2011-2014. The analysis was fundamental to understand why Turkey made the decision to radically shift the course of its foreign policy and restructure it towards Syria following the 2011 uprising. Undergoing such investigation entails: first, screening the historical background and key TFP determinants towards Syria. Second, testing the two opposite foreign policy directions and ascertaining that both met the restructuring threshold by manifesting the relevant indicators. Third, analyzing the factors behind each Foreign Policy Restructuring (FPR) phase and the associated variables and calculations |
