Abstract The present thesis describes the investigation of three fluoroquinolones, namely, Norfloxacin, Levofloxacin and Lomefloxacin via three techniques through two main approaches. First, is complexation of the investigated drugs with lanthanides as samarium, terbium and lanthanum and detecting the formed complex whether spectrophotometrically or spectrofluorimetrically. This approach applies the multivariate analysis for the detection of the optimal blend of factors affecting this complexation over two phases to build the model; screening and optimization, followed by verification and validation of the developed models. Second approach is constructing potentiometric sensors for the nominated fluoroquinolones based on tetraphenylborate as ion-exchanger casted with PVC and DOP and plasticizer followed by the study of the performance characteristics of the electrodes |
