Abstract This thesis presents the investigation of experimental hardware electro hydraulic servo system based on control strategies and optimization techniques. The designed control strategies are classical, fractional order controllers, fuzzy logic controllers and model predictive controllers. In addition, the used optimization techniques to tune the parameters of studied control strategies are Genetic Algorithm, particle swarm optimization and cuckoo search algorithm.
