Abstract

Taking into consideration critical issues and circumstances that face hospitality organizations in today’s business environment, there was a need to investigate the concepts of corporate governance, strategic management and organizational performance which play crucial role in raising the efficiency of the hotels’ business activities. More specifically, five-star hotels represent an important element of the hotel industry and economy in Egypt. As a result, this study aims to investigate the impact of corporate governance on organizational performance in five-star hotels in Egypt taking into consideration the moderating role of strategic management.
This study entails five main chapters including introduction, in addition, chapter two that tackles corporate governance, governance barriers, strategic management and organizational performance. Attention is also paid to chapter three that addresses methodology of the study, after that chapter four that addresses the results and findings, and chapter five that highlights conclusion and recommendations. This study is a descriptive-analytical. The study also uses simple random sampling as a sampling technique. The approach of interviewer administered questionnaire is adopted to gather data from the population. The study indicates that corporate governance positively influences organizational performance. Moreover, strategic management does not affect the relationship between corporate governance and organizational performance, while governance barriers do. Finally, recommendations are directed to interested parties
