Abstract There is no doubt that the phenomenon of global warming and industrial waste has become a concern for the whole world, especially in the past few years, which made the global trend towards reducing carbon emissions ,and thinking about the industries that emit the most, especially the Portland cement industry, where the production of 1 ton of ordinary Portland cement is equivalent to 1 ton of carbon dioxide emissions, so ordinary Portland cement is one of the most important construction materials that emit carbon dioxide, Therefore, it was important to search for alternative and environmentally friendly industries from several aspects, the most important of which are: - Reducing carbon dioxide emissions from ordinary Portland cement, in addition to the use of waste and by-products of other industries such as iron furnace slag, silica fum , kiln dust. in addition to the fact that geopolymer has mechanical properties As the compressive and bending strength are better than cement, and it is resistant to sulfates, acids and fire . Finally, it is possible to rely on geopolymer as an alternative to the cement industry, and is environmentally friendly. Chapter I: The first chapter gives a general introduction and a historical overview of the geopolymer and its importance. Also, the problem of global warming. Thermal emissions represented in carbon dioxide, how to reduce emissions to reduce global warming? How can use wastes and byproduct to create useful construction material alternative to ordinary Portland cement. Chapter II: Describes the experimental part of preparing the geopolymer using some waste and by-products of other industries. Chapter III: Discusses and analyzes the results for the different types of geopolymers Chapter IV: Presents the Conclusion. |
