Abstract The thesis was devoted to the development and validation of new simple, rapid, cost-effective, and sensitive analytical methods for the determination of some urinary disorder’s drugs in pure and dosage forms. The drugs used include vardenafil HCl (VARD), flavoxate HCl (FLX). two α1-adrenergic-antagonist drugs alfuzosin HCl (ALF) and doxazosin mesylate (DXZ) and the benign prostatic enlargement drug, tamsulosin HCl (TAMS). The techniques used in the present study were UV-Vis spectrophotometric, spectrofluorimetric and HPLC methods. For the determination of vardenafil HCl (VARD) and flavoxate HCl (FLX), the spectrophotometric method was based on the formation of ion-pair complexes between vardenafil HCl and flavoxate HCl with some acid dyes in acidic buffer solutions. This part is published in: Annales Pharmaceutiques Francaises, 2021, 79, 16-27. For the determination of the drugs alfuzosin HCl (ALF) and doxazosin mesylate, the developed spectrophotometric method was based on the formation of charge transfer complexes between ALF and DXZ as n-electron donor and quinalizarin (Quinz) or alizarin red S (ARS) as π-acceptor in methanol to form highly colored chromogens. II Abstract • Tamsulosin HCl (TAMS), in dosage forms and in spiked human plasma, was determined using the spectrophotometric, spectrofluorimetric and HPLC methods. The first two methods were based on the coupling reaction of TAMS with 4-Chloro-7-nitrobenzene-2 oxa-1, 3- diazole (NBD-Cl) in alkaline medium. HPLC method was applied for the determination of TAMS in dosage forms and its stress degradation products. |
