Abstract The present work is focused on the finding of inexpensive and environmental friendly techniques for wastewater treatment, especially heavy metal ions eliminations .the current work focused on preparation of different adsorbents from agriculture waste (banana leaves) that regarded as the most abundant, renewable and environmentally friendly adsorbents with good hydrophilicity high stability, efficiency over wide pH ranges, and suitable for different environmental conditions. The characterization and study of adsorptive properties of the prepared adsorbents towards the adsorption of heavy metal ions such as Cu(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), and Fe(III) ions was obtained and included in the thesis which is consisted of three main chapters. The first chapter represents a literature review on the water pollution. Its sources and impacts on the aquatic life and humans are included. The methods of water treatment, the advantages of adsorption technique and using banana leaves in adsorption process. The second chapter includes the experimental part, which describes the materials, instruments, and synthesis of materials under investigation. The way of measurements of heavy metal ions removal by adsorption was described |
