المستخلص

The aim of the research is to measure the effectiveness of a proposed program using the task-based learning approach in developing the argumentative writing skills and logical thinking of first year secondary students.
To achieve this goal, the researcher prepared the following research materials and tools: a teacher’s guide based on the task-based learning approach, and a student’s handbook. In addition, an argumentative writing skills test and a logical reasoning scale were prepared.
The study sample consisted of (45) forty-five female students from the first grade of secondary school in the secondary school for girls affiliated to the Sohag Educational Administration in Sohag Governorate. The dialectical, and the logical thinking scale was first applied to the first-year secondary school students, the research group, then the program was applied, the research found
*There is a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the first secondary grade female students (the research group) before applying the proposed program using the task-based learning approach and after it in the dialectical writing skills test as a whole and each of its dimensions in favor of the post application.
* There is a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the first-year secondary school students (the research group) before applying the proposed program using the task-based learning approach and after it in the logical thinking scale as a whole and each of its dimensions in favor of the dimensional application.
In light of the research, the researcher presented some recommendations and suggestions that may be useful in the field of Arabic language.
