ثانيًا: ملخص الدراسة باللغة الإنجليزية
Summary of the Study

First, the problem of the study:
The medical social service is one of the important areas of the specialist’s work, which represents a process aimed at the benefit of the patient, i.e. enabling him to obtain the appropriate treatment for his health condition and restore his social functions after treatment by removing the objectionable reasons to complete the correct treatment and working to re-accommodate the patient with his environment after his discharge from the hospital. It is a special preparation in the medical field, and human health is the true measure of his happiness and well-being. Health also carries a deep reality within it, and it is the basis of the continuity of life. An individual cannot practice his life and perform his normal activities without enjoying sound health. Disease is the opposite of health. Diseases are several types that can be classified as non-diseases. Contagious and contagious, and contagious ones are either limited in spread or quickly spread and negatively affect the economic, social, and psychological aspects of individuals and societies. In fact, the spread and extent of infectious epidemic diseases is affected by several factors such as climate, some of which spread more in hot areas, some of them spread in temperate areas and others spread in areas cold, and other factors influence the diffusion process Such as environmental conditions, availability or scarcity of water sources, level of environmental cleanliness, population habits, social and cultural status and health awareness
Second: The importance of the study:
1- The spread of many epidemics, including the Corona epidemic, the global crisis that caused confusion in the world in all its corners and caused many effects and social risks on the individual, family, and society, which requires conducting studies and scientific research in this context.
2- The medical field as one of the areas of practice and the presence of the social worker as a member of the medical teams, those great teams that represent the wall of defense and the first line of defense for society against the spread of these epidemics.
3- The importance of the preventive role of the medical social service in general and the way of serving the individual in the medical field through the practice of the preventive approach, which can be used to activate the role of the social worker in medical teams inside isolation hospitals for epidemic patients because of this approach of strategies and techniques that can help achieve preventive goals, especially in The spread and increase in the number of people infected with epidemics in general and the Corona virus in particular.
4- Determining the obstacles facing social workers in the medical field.
5- Emphasizing the importance of the social service profession and its role in facing crises and societal problems associated with the existence of epidemics.
6- Interest in the individual’s service method with social workers to prevent epidemics.
Third: Objectives of the study:
The study seeks to achieve a main goal to reach the obstacles that prevent the social worker from performing his professional role with the medical team in isolation hospitals for cases infected with the emerging corona virus. The following sub-questions emerge from the main question:
1- What is the nature of the social worker’s role as a member of the medical team in isolation hospitals for cases infected with the emerging coronavirus?
2- What are the attitudes of the medical team members towards the role of the social worker in the medical team in isolation hospitals for cases infected with the emerging coronavirus?
3- What are the obstacles facing the social worker’s performance of his role when working in isolation hospitals for cases infected with the emerging corona virus?
4- What are the proposals that contribute to facing the obstacles associated with the practice of social workers, not their professional role in the medical field at the time of the spread of epidemics?
Fourth, the study questions:
In light of the study’s goal, the study’s questions were identified in a main question, and in light of the study’s goal, the study’s questions were identified in a main question, which is what are the obstacles that prevent the social worker from performing his professional role with the medical team in isolation hospitals for cases infected with the emerging corona virus. The following sub-questions emerge from the main question:
1- What is the nature of the social worker’s role as a member of the medical team in isolation hospitals for cases infected with the emerging coronavirus?
2- What are the attitudes of the medical team members towards the role of the social worker in the medical team in isolation hospitals for cases infected with the emerging coronavirus?
3- What are the obstacles facing the social worker’s performance of his role when working in isolation hospitals for cases infected with the emerging corona virus?
4- What are the proposals that contribute to facing the obstacles associated with the practice of social workers, not their professional role in the medical field at the time of the spread of epidemics?
Fifth: Concepts of the study:
The study contains basic concepts, which are:
1- Epidemic and pandemic
2- Epidemiological infectious diseases
3- Professional practice of medical social work
4- The new corona virus
Sixth, methodological procedures:
1- Type of study:
According to its objectives, this study belongs to the type of descriptive studies through which accurate information can be obtained that depicts and diagnoses reality and contributes to the analysis of its phenomena, which is based on deciding certain characteristics or a situation that is overpowered by the character of identification, and depends on collecting facts, analyzing and interpreting them and drawing conclusions. Therefore, the current study aims to identify the obstacles to professional practice of social workers working with individual cases in the medical field in times of epidemics.
2- The method used:
The study relied on the comprehensive social survey approach for social workers working in Assiut University hospitals, numbering (30) individuals, as well as the comprehensive social survey approach for the beneficiaries of Assiut University hospitals, numbering (93) individuals.
3- Fields of study:
(a) Spatial Domain: It represents the spatial field of study in Assiut University Hospitals.
(b) The human domain: The human field of study is represented by the following:
- A comprehensive social survey of social workers working in Assiut University hospitals, and their number is (30).
- A comprehensive social survey of the beneficiaries of Assiut University hospitals, and their number is (93) single.
(c) Time Domain: The time range of the study represents the period of data collection from the field, which started on 1/1/2022 CE to 3/31/2022 CE.
4- Study tools: The data collection tools were:
A questionnaire form for social workers about the obstacles facing the role of the social worker as a member of the medical team with individual cases in hospitals in times of epidemics: The tool is designed according to the following steps:
1- Preliminary data.
2- The role of the social worker as a member of the medical team with individual cases in hospitals in times of epidemics.
3- Attitudes of the medical team members towards the role of the social worker as a member of the medical team with individual cases in hospitals in times of epidemics.
4- Obstacles facing the role of the social worker as a member of the medical team with individual cases in hospitals in times of epidemics.
5- Proposals to activate the role of the social worker as a member of the medical team with individual cases in hospitals in times of epidemics.
Eighth, the results of the general study:
1- The largest percentage of social workers is males with a percentage of (80%), while females with a percentage of (20%).
2- The largest proportion of social workers in the age group (from forty to less than 50 years) by (50%), followed by the age group (from thirty to less than 40 years) with a percentage (36.7%), and finally the age group (from twenty to Less than 30 years old) with a rate of (13.3%). The average age of social workers is (39) years, with a standard deviation of (7) years
3- The largest percentage of social workers hold a bachelor’s degree in social work with a percentage (40%), followed by those who have a postgraduate diploma in social work with a percentage of (26.7%), then those who have a Bachelor of Arts in the Department of Sociology (20%), and finally those who have a master of Social Work with a percentage of (13.3%).
4- The largest percentage of social workers with the number of years of work experience in the category (from 10 years to less than 15 years) with a percentage of (46.7%), followed by the category (from 5 years to less than 10 years) with a percentage of (36.7%), and finally Category (less than 5 years) with a rate of (16.7%). The average number of years of work experience is (9) years, with a standard deviation of (4) years.
5- A percentage (43.3%) of social workers received training courses in the field of work
6- The reasons for not obtaining training courses in the field of work as determined by social workers are represented in the lack of opportunity to obtain training courses by (41.2%), followed by the lack of time (29.4%), and my lack of knowledge of the training courses by (23.5%). Finally, the subjects of the training courses are far from specialization with a rate of (11.8%).
7- The largest percentage of social workers in the number of training courses they received in the field of work are two training courses (46.2%), followed by one training course (30.8%), and finally three training courses (23.1%). The mean number of training courses in the field of work (two training courses) and with a standard deviation of one training course.
8- A percentage (100%) of social workers benefited from the training courses they received in the field of work.
Description of the study population beneficiaries:
- The largest percentage of beneficiaries are males with a percentage of (65.6%), while females with a percentage of (34.4%).
- The largest percentage of beneficiaries is in the age group (from 40 to less than 50 years) with a percentage of (47.3%), followed by the age group (from 50 years and over) with a percentage of (20.4%), then the age group (from 30 to less than 40 years old) ) by (19.4%), and finally the age group (from 20 to less than 30 years old) by (12.9%). The average age of the beneficiaries is (43) years, with a standard deviation of (9) years.
- The largest percentage of the beneficiaries are married with a percentage of (72%), followed by singles with a percentage of (14%), then a widow with a percentage of (7.5%), and finally a divorced person with a percentage of (6.5%).
- The largest percentage of beneficiaries hold an average qualification with a rate of (44.1%), followed by illiterates with a rate of (24.7%), then they read and write with a rate of (21.5%), and finally those with a high qualification with a rate of (9.7%).
- The largest percentage of beneficiaries are employed in the government sector by (45.2%), followed by self-employment by (30.1%), then unemployed by (12.9%), and finally workers in the private sector by (11.8%).
