Abstract In 2001, the World Health Organization (WHO) ranked psychosis as the third most disabling condition worldwide (WHO, 2001).Ranking among the ten most frequent causes of disability in developed countries, SZ affects roughly one percent of the world{u2019}s population (Oertel-Knochel et al., 2011). Written descriptions of symptoms commonly observed today in patients with SZ are found throughout history. Early Greek physicians described delusions of grandeur, paranoia, and deterioration in cognitive functions and personality.
