Abstract The Egyptian Civil Code (ECC) and FIDIC Red Book form of contract conditions are based on concept and philosophies, which may be somehow different. This thesis addresses some provisions of the Egyptian Civil Code (ECC), and the Egyptian Law for Tenders and Bids; Law 89 for year 1998 (ELTB 89) and law 182 for year 2018 (ELTB 182), to understand the parties{u2019} legal rights and obligations, when using FIDIC Red Book under such applicable law, and to assess the degree of integration and contradiction between their terms. The topics to be analyzed and discussed are the consequences of severe increase in quantities and their impact on the contract price, parties{u2019} responsibilities towards the defaults of design, and finally the perquisites needed for applying liquidated/delay damages |
