Abstract Ridge resorption in the missing maxillary premolar area and bone quality are factors limiting implant restoration in this area due to the absence of implant stability due to insufficient bone volume.Different treatment modalities for increasing bone volume have been used with variable degrees of challenges, disadvantages and cost. Bone expansion using screw expanders was considered most suitable due to being the least invasive technique. The present study was conducted to evaluate the primary stability of implants cases with resorbed maxillary premolar area after using Densah bur in comparison to expander.Stability was measured using Osstell based on concept of resonance frequency analysis. The sample of this study consist of twenty patients with missing maxillary premolar who were examined clinically and radiographically. The patients were chosen from the outpatient clinic of Implantology, faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria previously mentioned. Each patient received an implant at site of the missing premolar |
