Abstract The cotton leafworm, Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.) is very polyphagous insect against the most economic plants all over the world. The traditional synthetic chemical insecticides had dramatic effect on the living organisms including man. The present work was planned to study some toxicological, biological and biochemical effects of the IGRs; Tuflubenzuron (CSIs), PrecoceneII (Anti JH), Pyriproxyfen (JHA) and synthesis Pyriproxyfen and its methylated derivative against the cotton leafworm, S. littoralis under laboratory condition. These compounds were assayed under laboratory conditions. The compound caused toxicity against the larvae. There was some morphogenic effect obtained due to effect of the used compounds on larvae, pupae and adult stages. On the other hands the biochemical analysis of the cotton leafworm revealed that there are significant changes in chitinase, protease and total carbohydrates |
