Abstract The present study conducted on 18 patients seeking for surgical extraction of deeply impacted mandibular third molars, (10 males & 8 females) with total of thirty cases. All patients were free from any conditions that may complicate the surgical procedure or healing process.They were all satisfied with their treatment.This study was conducted through two groups; the control group patients underwent surgical extraction of DIMTM using the conventional technique, while in the study group patients underwent surgical extraction of DIMTM using computer cutting guide followed by repositioning of the bony window without any fixation. All cases were followed up clinically and radiographically, immediately & six months postoperatively. Normal wound healing was observed after the surgery, no complications were noticed during clinical follow up period in any of the patients at surgery site such as inflammation, wound dehiscence or edema. Radiographic evaluation of healing of the extraction socket showed in the study group normal consolidation and trabeculation at 6months post operatively, while in the control group went uneventfully |
