المستخلص The current study aimed to identifying the most important contemporary visions in financing higher education, identifying its sources in Egypt, determining the most prominent problems, and clarifying the justifications for the diversity of sources of higher education funding in Egypt, and it also clarified the most important challenges facing the diversity of higher education funding sources in Egypt. It aimed to identifying the most important legislative, economic, social, educational, and administrative requirements necessary to achieve diversification in the sources of funding for higher education in Egypt. The researcher used the descriptive approach as its the appropriate one for the study. The researcher also prepared a questionnaire as a tool for the study that was applied to (368) faculty members and their assistants at the universities of Sohag, Assiut, Ain Shams and Damietta to investigate their opinions on the degree of importance of the requirements included in the questionnaire, to use it in developing proposals to diversify sources of funding in higher education in Egypt. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are the followings: that higher education in Egypt suffers from some funding problems that require the provision of some requirements to achieve diversity in its sources, and that one of the most important requirements is; developing new laws that would increase the sources of self-income for higher education institutions, providing modern specializations which are related to future jobs by higher education institutions for appropriate financial fees, establishing investment projects, increasing the number of research centers that provide additional income to them, the contribution of higher education institutions in developing industrial, agricultural and commercial facilities in return for a fee, creating a spirit of teamwork so that everyone is a partner in providing financial and material support, higher education institutions can create research projects which are capable of competing in the labor market, the investment of higher education institutions in innovations and patents, selling registered property rights, training the administrative staff to gain financial experience in funding higher education institutions. In light of the results of the study, the researcher developed a suggested model for diversifying the sources of funding higher education in Egypt. |
