Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the relation between low back pain and trunk Proprioception in postnatal period. Forty Women participated in the study, twenty of them were suffering from low back pain in postpartum period and twenty were free from low back pain.Their age ranged from 25 to 35 years and their body mass index ranged from 25 to 35 kg/m2 .They were in postpartum period from first day of delivery to 6 months post partum, all women were selected according to number of parity (2-3 times). They were selected from EL KASR EL EINY Hospital & WADY EL NILE Hospital from August 2020 and March 2021.The subjects were divided randomly into two groups equal in number, Study group (A)This group included 20 multipara women had low back pain according to Visual analog scale (VAS) ,While Control group (B) included 20 multipara women didn’t have low back pain according to VAS. Evaluation of all women was performed through scoring 1 to 10 according to visual analogue scale (VAS) to measure severity of pain, as well as using Bubble inclinometer to measure trunk proprioception in postpartum period , which used to assess the absolute angular error (AAE) for trunk flexion at 30 degree and 60 degree. The obtained results of this study revealed that There were a significant effect of low back pain on trunk proprioception at 30 degree and 60 degree flexion (p = 0.0001)and (p= 0.0001)) respectively , And there was a positive significant correlation between score of visual analogue scale and degree of angular error in 30 degree flexion and 60 degree flexion (p=0.002) and (p=0.003) respectively
