Abstract

The optimal scheduling system of multi-product pipelines is beneficial to improve the transportation economy and safety. This thesis addresses how to optimize the detailed scheduling of a multi-product pipeline. The study was applied on a Φ 18- inch multi-product pipeline of 130 km operated by Petroleum Pipeline Company (PPC). The involved products include gas oil, jet fuel, naphtha, gasoline 80, gasoline 95. The thesis handled the contamination problem in the mixing zone and used Austin J.E. and Palfrey J.R. equation to estimate the contaminated volume cost and storage volume need for each cycle. It was also assured that transportation is within flat zone and yield minimum value of interface volume providing the optimum multi product pipeline scheduling.
