Abstract The purpose of the study is to examine land donations stelae from the Late New Kingdom to the end of the Late Period, and to describe their shapes and the scenes represented in the upper part of the stelae. In addition to analyse the differences between their shapes and tracked the text through the different historical periods. The study is divided into three chapters; the first chapter is Temple’s economy in ancient Egypt, is an introductory chapter which deals with state’s economy, temple’s economy, theories of the ancient Egyptian economy and temple’s donations, especially the land donations stelae. The second chapter refer to Land donations stelae during the Late New Kingdom, which deals with models of land donations stelae from the reign of King Ramesses II and King Ramesses III. The third chapter discusses Land donations stelae during the Late period, deals with models of land donations stelae from the Twenty-Second Dynasty until the Twenty-Sixth Dynasty. Then the conclusion of this study can be shown in the types of land donations stelae, two shapes of land donations stelae, the characters represented on the scenes such as the king or the representative of the local power and the text which contain the formula of land donations, the land area, curses and blessings. |
