Abstract Herein, nine novel styrene n-alkyl acrylate maleic anhydride terpolymers were synthesized, characterized, and evaluated as follows: The acrylic acid was esterified with a series of n-alkanols with different numbers of carbon atoms. Then, the terpolymerization reaction of the synthesized n-acrylates with different monomers of styrene and maleic anhydride was performed. Also, the produced terpolymers were chemically modified by the esterification and imidation reactions, and the obtained terpolymers and modified terpolymers were characterized by various techniques. Additionally, all terpolymers were evaluated as promising and efficient pour point depressors (PPDs), paraffin inhibitors (PIs), and flow improvers for the Egyptian waxy crude oil. |
