Abstract

The present study deals with integration of remote sensing applications and geochemical characterization of stream deposits. Therefore, it aims to build up integrated geological digital information of the Shalatin plain. This is achievable through using satellite remotely sensed data and mapping techniques in monitoring and mapping land use.So we could determine the most suitable band ratio for the area reducing the need of field check. As the image used at this study is obtained from landsat 8 in this study the used ratio were for lansat 7 so they have been modified to match Landsat8 and all those ratio were used for basement essentially as we tried to measure its suitability for sedimentary cover. Here there are ratios have been used: first of Ali et al. (2012) ”5/7, 5/1, (5/4*3/4)” for lithology, and the second of GUPTA (1991), and Knepper (1989) ” 6/7, 4/2, 5/6” for clays (Al2O3)
