Abstract
Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality, with peritoneal recurrence occurring in 25-35% of patients. Despite advances in its therapy, many patient who initially present with early CRC develop recurrence and metastases. Currently, patient selection for adjuvant therapy in CRC does not include routine evaluation of peritoneal lavage fluid for tumour cells.
