Abstract
Aim of the work : The aim of this study was clinically evaluate two locator R-Tx attachments for two implants retained mandibular complete overdenture using two loading protocols. Materials and Methods: Ten completely edentulous patients of age ranged between 55 and 65 years were selected for this study. Patients were randomly classified into two equal groups. group I: five patients were received the prosthesis by conventional loading protocol after three months from implant placement.group II: five patients were received the final prosthesis by early loading protocol after two weeks from implant placement. Results : There was statistically insignificant difference between the two groups in periimplant soft tissue health parameters ( plaque index, gingival index and probing depth ) and vertical bone level changes at all observation times. However, plaque, gingival and probing depth significantly increased with advance of time for both groups (delayed and early loading groups).VBL significantly increased from T6 to T12 for both groups at all sites. Conclusion : RTx Locator is a promising attachment system if early loading protocol is planned to be used.
