Since that time, American literary production has been greatly and negatively affected by the horrible event and this was reflected in many literary narratives and different genres such as novels and short stories. The Terrorist is one of those novels that covered the event and its influence on people’s views and concepts about Islam. In this novel, Updike uses several linguistic techniques for a variety of artistic goals in portraying the image of Muslims and the main objective of this research is to explore how some of his linguistic devices have been employed in serving this goal. |
