Abstract This study aims to examine the association among personality traits, psychological biases and blood type on investor’s reaction in the Egyptian financial market to determine the risk tolerance of each investor. To achieve this aim, the researcher conducts a survey based on “Myers-Briggs Type Indicator”(MBTI); which is used as an introspective self-report questionnaire with the purpose of indicating differing preferences on how people perceive the world around them and make decisions. As the survey method is used as data collection method in this research. A Questionnaire which contains 44 questions is used to pick up information on the study variables. 500 questionnaires are distributed among investors, 300 were returned with 22 questionnaires with missing data, then, 278 questionnaires are available for analysis.The results revealed that, there is a significant relationship between personality traits and blood type, there is significant relationship between personality traits and psychological biases, there is a positive association between personality traits and investor risk attitude (financial risk tolerance) towards decisions in the Egyptian Stock Exchange, there is significant relationship between blood type and psychological biases. Furthermore, the significant relationship between blood type and investor’s risk attitude is supported.The results also, revealed that Investors with blood type A are higher risk takers while Investors with blood type O are lower risk takers and this because blood type A is affected more by psychological biases |
