Abstract

Obesity is a public health problem, increases the risk of developing chronic metabolic disorders and may result from an imbalance between energy intake and expenditure.Several studies demonstrated the ability of the microbiota to regulate host fat deposition, metabolism, and immune function, and the changes in the relative abundance of the gut microbiota triggers pathogenic mechanisms to promote the development of obesity.
The gut microbiota can be affected by a range of factors, such as diet, antibiotic, diseases and exercise. Therefore, the gut microbiota is becoming a novel target for disease therapies .
