Abstract

ABSTRACT : The study under scrutiny aims at discussing the attitude of Sheikh Al-Islam, Mustafa Sabry about the Egyptian society’s beginning towards Europe after sending scientific missions to France,in the era of Mohammed Ali who wanted totransfer Europeanrenaissance and civilization to Egypt to build a modern Egyptiancivilizedempire under the leadership of the Alolawya Family : Mohammed Ali and his sons whom Al-Azhar hilighted their cultural shift. Moreover,Mustafa Sabry;the senescent of Al-Azhar, followed the same role of Mohammed Abdu and his studentswhose vision was adopted by the government and that made printing presses, newspapers and publishing houses open for them. Thus,Qasim Amin publishedEmancipation of Women,to advocte the civic re-formation of the Egyptian woman. Similarly , AbdelRazik published for the separation of Islam from politics and administration,about Islam and fundamentals of governance. Likewise, Mohammed HusseinHaikal publishedThe Life of Muhammad, to review the Islamic nation’s belief and vision of Prophet Mohammed and his miracles, along with Rashid Reda’snew interpretation of the meanings of the Holy Qur’an. The study also discusses the roots of the Egyptian Westernization movement,its origins, it’s significant men and their intellectual formation and scientific life,the impact of the Western mind and materialism on their knowledge, thinking and their renaissance philosophy. İt also also aims at showing the approach of Mustafa Sabry’s way of thinking and the reasons for his stance on the Egyptian intellectual movement.
