Abstract

Antenatal care (ANC) is the health care given to pregnant women so that they have safe pregnancy and healthy babies. It includes routine follow up provided to all pregnant women at primary care level from screening to intensive life support during pregnancy and up to delivery. (United Nations Populations Fund and Harvard School of Public Health. UNFPA, 2010)Antenatal Care (ANC) is a category of preventive healthcare aiming to provide regular check-ups that allow doctors or midwives to treat and prevent potential health problems along the pregnancy period while promoting healthy lifestyles that benefit both mother and child.
