Family stress is one of the most important negative effects that breast cancer patients are exposed to as a result of having this disease, which affects both the psychological aspect of the patient and the social aspect represented in her relationship with her family members and also the impact of the patient’s economic condition, which results in their suffering from troubled feelings and then practicing forms of Abnormal behaviors.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is one of the most destructive modern therapeutic models in the social casework, which contribute to increasing the psychological flexibility of the patient in order to help her learn psychological skills to overcome different stress situations in her life, behavioral behaviors through acceptance, linking with the present moment, confronting experimental avoidance situations, choosing values, And binding action, as the owners of this trend see that the thoughts that revolve inside the mind are the main reason for the accumulation of pressure and the practice of such negative behaviors.
Therefore, the intervention was made professionally in light of this study by applying the acceptability and commitment therapy model with metastatic breast cancer patients in order to alleviate the manifestations of family stress in light of the application of many treatment strategies and techniques for that model.
Second: the problem of study:
In the context of the literature that has been presented, studies and previous research indicated that having a chronic disease, especially breast cancer, is often accompanied by the exposure of these patients within their families to many problems (psychological, social, and economic) and what other studies and research have confirmed about the effectiveness of treatment with acceptance and commitment in Alleviate these negative effects.
Third: The importance of the study
1. It sheds light on the most important negative aspects of family stress in metastatic breast cancer patients.
2. Emphasizing the role of the social service profession as one of the scientific professions contributing to improving the negative effects associated with women’s infection with metastatic breast cancer.
3. The lack of Arab studies that have dealt with this issue.
Fourth: the study objectives

5. Characterization of metastatic breast cancer patients.
Fifth: Hypotheses of the study:
Based on the scientific specialization of the method of serving the individual, and based on the theoretical study and the theoretical framework of the current research topic, and based on the findings of previous studies and research, this study seeks to verify the following hypotheses:-
1. There are not statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the premeasurement of the control and experimental groups on the scale of family stress.
2. There are statistically significant significant differences between the mean scores of the pre and post measurements of the experimental group on the scale of family stress in favor of the post.
3. There are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the pre and post measurements of the control group on the scale of family stress.
4. There are statistically significant significant differences between the mean scores of the two dimensional measures of the control and experimental groups in favor of the experimental group on the scale of family stress.
5. There are statistically significant significant differences between the averages of degrees of covariance rates “difference” between the pre- and post-measurements of the control and experimental groups in favor of the variance of the experimental group on the scale of family stress.
Sixth: study concepts:
1. The concept of efficiency.
2. The concept of a professional intervention program.
3. The concept of the acceptance and commitment therapy.
4. Family stress.
5. The concept of metastatic breast cancer.
4-Study tools:
The current study relied on a set of tools, namely:
a- Professional interviews
B- Knowledge data sheet
C- Scale of family stress (the researcher prepared)
Seventh: Fields of study
1. Spatial domain: Harem residence department at the South Egypt Cancer Institute – Assiut
2. The human field: The number of cases of the study sample was (22) cases of metastatic breast cancer patients. They were divided into two groups, one of them is control and the other is experimental, each of them consisted of (11) cases.
3. Time domain: The study took about three years and it was registered in March\ 2018
and The final report of the study was written in March\ 2021>
Ninth: the results of the study:
The general results reached a validation of the main hypothesis of the study with its sub-dimensions indicating the effectiveness of the acceptance and commitment therapy in alleviating family stress (social, psychological, and economic) in metastatic breast cancer patients.
