Abstract The current investigation aims to identifying the land and water resources in in some areas of Ismailia governorate. This study covers the geomorphology and pedological characteristics of the study area This includes soil classification, land capability evaluation and suitability for certain main crops. Moreover, chemical analyses of water samples collected from available water resources in the study area are carried out to assess their quality for irrigation purposes. The integration of RS and GIS) techniques was used to perform all results and produce the spatial digital maps of this work. This work could be presented important information about the potentiality of land resources for proper sustainable agriculture of these soils. The interpretation of geomorphic map produced using RS and GIS technology indicated that, there are six main identified geomorphic units including eleven landforms in this area. These units are 1) Depressions, 2) Terraces (including Low, and High Terraces), 3) Basins including (over flow basins and Decantation basins), 4) peneplains (Low and High), 5) Sandy plains (High, Moderately and Low) and 6) Mountain (including foot slope and Crest). Twenty soil profiles were selected representing these landforms. |
