Abstract Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a key cytokine involved in regulating the balance between Th1 and Th2 cells by promoting Th1 response. Taken together, data from many human studies strongly support that IL-12 is a central effector cytokine involved in critical steps of allergic inflammation specially asthma This study aimed to assess relation between serum level of IL-12 and severity of bronchial asthma. The study was carried out on 75 asthmatic children (mild intermittent ,mild persistent, moderate persistent, sever persistent), who were recruited from the outpatient clinic of Chest and Allergy Unit, Pediatric Department, Tanta University Hospital. |
