Abstract The study area located in Gebel El-Zeit area in the south western side of the Gulf of Suez between latitudes 27°40′ and 28°05′ N and longitudes 33°20′ and 33°40′ E. Ras El Ush oil field lies 80 km north of Hurghada in the offshore transition marine zone 1.5 km east of the saddle between the main Gebel El Zeit and little Zeit. The present study has been done to offer a small effort in the development of Gulf of Suez by exploring new hydrocarbon promising traps in order to raise economy of our country. In achieving that, seismic studies have been operated to give a whole imagination about the hidden oil traps in the study area. The hydrocarbon exploration works in this study are mainly dedicated towards the identification of the structural features which may control the oil accumulation and migration. The available data for the current study area are four composite logs provided by Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Gebel El Zeit Petroleum Company (PetroZeit), which are REU-4, REU-6, REU-9 and REU10, including resistivity, density, gamma ray, neutron and composite logs for certain interval. All check shots are also available for each well. As well as twenty seismic lines and velocity data that covers the area of study, 10 inline and 10 cross line. |
