Abstract Aim of Work: - - Removing of pollutant and materials (sodium, vanadium, Sulphur) which produced from combustion of Heavy fuel oil which cause corrosion using some material extracted from cation waste water. - Reducing the environmental pollution produced from combustion of heavy fuel oil. Results and discussion Use of waste water of cation exchange resin and extraction of materials magnesium and calcium from it and make a suspension solution of magnesium and sodium salts as a fuel additive for mazout to reduce contamination (sodium, Sulphur, vanadium) and improve physical properties of mazout. They combine with vanadium oxides and hence increases the melting point of the ash components to a level above the system temperature so they are no longer sticky and effectively neutralizes the acid that condenses on the cooler parts of the air heating system forming neutral MgSO4. Magnesium oxide salts was used to remove fuel pollutants such as Na, V, S, wax and asphaltene. The cost of removal is expected to be quite low. In addition, the emission of flue gases was studied for 4 boilers in service, where the results showed that the emission rate of the treated mazout and mixed with natural gas compatible with the Egyptian and international standards. |
