Abstract

Amaunet or Amunet played an important role in ancient Egyptian religion as a feminine form of the great god Amun and his original consort, they were represented together as A main pair in the Ogdoad of Hermopolis referring to darkness, they had been mentioned in pyramid texts and coffin texts .They moved together to Thebes at the beginning of the Middle Kingdom. While sometimes identified with several deities, she was known for the red crown of Lower Egypt. Amaunet was self–created and retained her own identity in ancient Egyptian civilization continued for a long time until the end of Greco-roman period. She had been adored in several temples of Ancient Egypt and had been represented with several gods and goddesses. She had been a purpose for adoration from the beginning and her cult had been served by several priests. She had been represented in a female form, male form and also as an Animal. She also held many of titles which identified her as one of the most important goddesses until the End of Greco-
