Abstract The mechanism of crystallization of gypsum (CSD) in aqueous solutions was investigated in the presence and absence of sodium salt of poly-acrylic acid (PAA), sodium salt of poly (poly (AA–co–MA)) and the sodium salt of poly (Poly (AA–co–MAA–co–MMA)) in the present study. The thesis consists of three chapters: The first chapter The first chapter contains the introduction, which contains general introduction of phases of calcium sulfate, sources of calcium sulfate, degree of saturation, nucleation, crystal growth, scale formation. Also, it contains special survey on the subject under study. The second chapter Includes the experimental methods of preparation of CaCl2, Na2SO4, NaCl solutions and preparation of the additives used in this study like (PAA, AA-CO-MA and AA-CO-MA-CO-MMA). Also, illustrated the method of preparation of seed crystals of gypsum (CSD) and FTIR, XRD.SEM.SSA and EDEX used to confirm the structure of the prepared seed crystals of gypsum. In this chapter also, illustrated the method of determining the states of crystallization reaction using constant composition method. |
