Abstract

In this research, the conclusions derived from the findings of the study are described. The conclusions depended on the purpose of the study, which is to identify and measure awareness of local residents about having tourist sites in Northern Upper Egypt Governorates and to know about their behavior towards their visits. The conclusions were also based on the research questions and their answers. Several recommendations were based on both the findings and the purpose of the study.
4.1 Discussion, Conclusion and Recommendation
To achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher employed a method of mixed methodology by using a questionnaire tool and interview. The several findings and recommendations were presented as the following:
Conclusion
 The residents of the Governorates of North Upper Egypt, gained their information about the tourist sites in their Governorates through the school curricula during the period of their studies, and some of them explained that the social relations of friends, co-workers, and relatives played a major in obtaining information about tourist sites within their tracks.
 It turned out that there is a weakness in supplying and providing the local population with information about the tourist sites in the Governorates of (Minia - Beni Suef - El-Fayoum) by the media (T.v & Radio).
 The reasons for visiting the tourist sites, by the residents of the Northern region of Upper Egypt, were different. As there were those who visited for the purpose of treatment and hospitalization, visiting relatives and friends, and school trips or for the purpose of entertainment.
 Through the survey, it was found that most of those who visited tourist sites were accompanied by their families or friends.
 The residents of the entire region had unanimously agreed that transportation was the most difficult they met during their visit, in addition to other difficulties such as unavailable for quality of accommodation facilities and poor public cleanliness.
 It was found that residents’ knowledge about the tourist sites in their Governorates is generally weak.
 Through the survey, most of residents of the three tested Governorates are not used to visit the tourist site in their Governorates.
Recommendations
 Drawing attention to the role the media, whether read, audio or visual, because the media is the cornerstone of building knowledge.
 Educating Government agencies and the Private sector on the role of the local community.
 Participation of the local community in setting regulations and guidelines for managing the tourist visit to the destination.
 Making brochures and booklets by each Governorate within the region including the most important information about tourist sites. These brochures should be distributed to school and university students, youth centers, and clubs ets.
 Carrying out promotional trips and special offers by the Governorate and officials for the local people at nominal and free prices in order to encourage them to visit their tourist sites within their Governorate. As a result, domestic tourism could be encouraged.
 There should be an interest in the workers within these sites and work on developing them from training courses and motivating them financially and morally.
 Conducting awareness campaigns, by the tourism experts, at schools, besides holding symposiums in youth centers”.
 Encouragement can be represented by sharing a common work between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Egyptian Ministry of Environment to raise the level of knowledge about the tourist sites in each Governorate.
 Setting a plan of cleanliness, caring for the infrastructure, restoring the roads, facilitating means of transportation, and making them more cheerful.
 The study recommends that art celebrities and footballers should pay visits to those destinations. Hence, local residents can be encouraged to visit the same sites.
