Abstract Aim: evaluate the effect of using Nano-hybrid versus lithium disilicate ceramics as superstructures over IPS e.max custom made abutments on esthetic patient satisfaction, marginal bone loss, peri-implant probing depth and bleeding on probing over implants in esthetic zone. Is there a difference in the clinical performance of Nano hybrid ceramic crowns if when compared with lithium disilicate ceramic crowns used in anterior esthetic zone? Methodology: In this study two groups were compared, each group with sample size 19 with total sample size 38. Patient with missing teeth in the anterior esthetic zone was restored with implants, with superstructure made of hybrid abutment cemented to TiBase. Final restoration was either Tetric CAD (hybrid ceramic) or IPS E.max crown. Outcome measured was, esthetic patient satisfaction and peri-implant tissue success. Results: IPS e.max showed higher esthetic patient satisfaction. Peri-implant tissue success was of no significant difference. Conclusions: It was revealed that Tetric CAD hybrid ceramic is versatile successful superstructure, however it showed inferior esthetic patient satisfaction in comparison to IPS e.max. |
