Abstract

Surface epithelial tumors are the most important group of neoplasms, have conventionally been thought to derive from the epithelium that normally lines the outer aspect of the ovary, variously referred to as surface, coelomic, or germinal.Rates of ovarian cancer increase with age. Increased parity is
a protective factor.Gonadal hormones play a significant role in the progression and prevention of ovarian cancer. Estrogen has been related to increase risk for ovarian cancer, while progestins have been shown to produce large protective effects against ovarian cancer.
