Abstract

In Benin, as in many African countries, we do not have the normal reference values of biochemistry and hemogram of the local population. To define these values, a study of 200 healthy presumed adults, 130 of which were female, was carried out on a population of adult volunteers in Ab. Calavi. This study was conducted at LARBA and PolyClinique LAB campus. The parameters of the hemogram were determined on a Sysmex XS500i hematology Coulter, and for biochemistry we used a Spectrophotometer. At the end of our study, the average blood glucose was 4.84 mmol / L with a reference interval [4.73-4.95], the mean uremia was 3.99 mmol / L with reference interval [2 , 5-5,49] and the mean serum creatinine obtained is 97.68µmol/l with a reference interval [95.91-106.34].The mean haematological values observed in our study are: 5.18T / l for erythrocytes, 5.3 G / l for leucocytes, 2.42G / l for lymphocytes, 13.88g / dl for hemoglobin, 43, 72% for hematocrit, 84.98 fl for average cell volume and 219G / l for thrombocytes. These data were compared with the values of Normal References described in European populations on the one hand and black Africa on the other hand. this study enabled us to establish and show the existence of significant differences between the reference values of these parameters in Benin and those of Western authors. On the other hand, the results reveal a similarity and a more or less real comparison with the reference values of some African countries.
